Paper-cluttered? Here are some tips.

Author: Beth  /  Category: Organizing

Do you feel that everywhere in your office or home, you see nothing but paper? Here are some simple tips in helping keep the paper you have whether in your office or home organized.

1. Keep a trash can or pail right next to the mail box. Tear up or throw away mail that is not important, such as advertising that you did not ask for as well as other papers that you do not want or need. If it is a document that is not necessary and is not pressing, then it is a document that you should not keep. You don’t want all that junk mail. Treat it like junk and throw it away.

2. Avoid piling up the papers. Give a time every day for going through all the documents you have and eliminate things that you do not need or that do not require your immediate attention. This may include newspapers and magazines which you can store for future reading and recycling. You should remember however to take them out from time to time and not stack them for too long of a time, like a month or even a year.

Organization 101: To Throw or Not to Throw

Author: Beth  /  Category: Organizing

It all depends on your decision-making skills and the object you are considering throwing or keeping.Â

Sort it out.

Mail received needs careful consideration, especially when they have been piling up for the past months or years! All bills received in the mail as well as personal letters should be placed in a box or a folder that indicates such. Decide immediately the correspondence that is worthy to be tossed in the trash; that catalogue from last year perhaps, or that invitation to acquire a credit card. If it is irrelevant, there is no use in keeping them.

Clean it out.

Admit it, there are clothes found in your closet that you haven’t worn for the past twentyfour months. What is the best thing to do? Throw it out! Clean your closet of space-occupying clothes that no longer fit you, or that you never really liked.  What’s the use of keeping it? Give it to someone else who would appreciate it more. The same goes for toys.Â

Organize your closet, please!

Author: Beth  /  Category: Uncategorized

What would it take for you to stop it? Your closet is not a space for that over sized jacket you haven’t worn in five years, or for that Monopoly set with half of the pieces missing. Think not what your closet can do for you but what you can do for your closet. Organize it! Now! The following tips will help you to better manage the chaos your closet may now be facing.Â

Take everything out

As much as possible, and with a little patience anything is, take all objects, stuff, trash, junk, clothes, etc. from the darkness of your closet and bring it all into the light. This enables you to see how much room the closet really has. You could also size up the space and the stuff you could keep in it and what you have to throw out. Doing this also helps you realize how much actual junk you have accumulated as well as the little unknown trinkets or treasures that have been hiding underneath all those belongings.
